Observation: Two children in same family and one wants to compete in everything she sees and the other is asked if she would like to be on the swim team she replied, "I just don't see it. You get in the pool and swim in a lane just to see if you can swim faster than everyone else?" "No thanks"
Being a fan could be more simple though--drinking with friends with a common purpose while in costume? watchwomanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03318329956601834415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1657662925997069756.post-89439662827019110922012-08-22T16:23:39.762-07:002012-08-22T16:23:39.762-07:00Interesting. DA to be a sports star of some sort.

... Because I too lack the sports fan gene-- to the extent that the owner of my local bar once won a bet, and poured me free drinks for a week, by telling some strangers (homeboys would have known) that I would not know who was playing in the Super Bowl, the day before the game.

On the other hand I am serious about such things as shooting; but not in competition-- sort of a Zen of archery thing? It isn't the act or physical aspect that loses me. It is the game.

Also re what we call Sports now (which is more watching others play games): from England, but otherwise ? "Games are things that use balls; sports are done upon or after animals". ?

Steve Bodiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14434597061701369867noreply@blogger.com
